This is for refinement of the survey.
Copy, paste, and edit the survey questions from the original Learner Survey page to suit the way you think they ought to be here!

I also moved the short answers questions to the end of this survey. I added a few tables when I thought they would make the question required easier to answer. – J.B.

I really like questions 18 and 19, I think they get valuable info in an honest and direct way. - Paul Whitten

20. What does the term “distance learning” mean to you?

21. What are your reasons for wanting (or not wanting) distance courses offered through our university?

Don't #2 and 18 also address this same question? Do we need #21? S.M.

22. Use the space below to make any comments regarding your experience using online course content.

23. How will you handle a technology crisis (i.e. you lose internet access at home or your computer crashes)?

Aaron: I deleted some redundant questions. Again, I like the use of open-ended questions. They really provide a lot of information about the survey taker, but too many of them might detract someone from taking the survey. A survey should be painless. Should we still shorten this one? Are 23 questions too many?

I agree about the open-ended questions. I think the most valuable information can be gained from those. Also, I don't think 23 is too many, I think 50 would be fine. - Paul Whitten

I reworded question 23. The way it was made me think of when we've had issues with Blackboard. It's the responsibility of the instructor to have a backup in case the technology fails (not that it happens that often). It's the responsibility of the student to make sure that the technology is working on their end. It's not the instructor's fault if the students waits until the last minute and discovers that something is wrong with their computer. - Megan
